Meet the Producer of the 2nd Annual Marketing Summit

Nancy Craun- 
Nancy Craun, founder and owner of Encore Elite Partners, has over 30 years experience as an entrepreneur. Nancy excels at grant writing the winner of five grant awards for businesses in the past four years totaling $150,000. Working on her fourth entrepreneur adventure. Encore Elite Partners (EEP) specialties are Brand Management, Digital Social Media Management and Public Relations. EEP utilizes a Blue Ocean Marketing platform to create a unique marketing ecosystem bringing       businesses in the tourism industry together to collaborate on marketing campaigns.

These include:

  • Virginia Kids Trail promoting multi-generational travel
  • Taste of Blue Ridge Root to Table Culinary Series connecting people passionate about food and where it is resourced including chefs, farmers, and consumers.
Nancy is also a passionate grandmother of two wonderful granddaughters. She is an avid gardener with a love of painting a landscape thru live plants.

Shel Davis-
Shel Davis is a Senior Principal at Maven Wave, a digital transformation consulting firm and Google Cloud Premier Partner, located in Chicago, Illinois. Shel currently focuses on delivering cloud solutions based on the Google Cloud platform and cutting-edge geospatial services. Prior to joining Maven Wave, Shel was part of the Cloud First team at Accenture, and before that he was one of the first employees of Cloud Sherpas, a startup that later became a Google Premier partner. Shel has worked at a variety of other companies large and small, and he's held a variety of technology leadership positions over the last twenty years. He knows that digital transformation is a journey, not a destination, and he knows that all technology decisions involve trade-offs. Shel's a dynamic  speaker with technical depth, and he has a knack for making complex technical concepts         understandable.

Mystery Speaker 1-
Mystery Speaker 1 is an Education Development Executive, where they provide strategic thought leadership around the transformation of teaching and learning with technology. Based in San Diego, they work with higher education institutions across the US and internationally, with a focus on the intersection of business education with the app economy. Prior to joining in their current role, they served as faculty in the Center for the Environment, University of Oxford, with parallel appointments in the Oxford Internet Institute and the Oxford Reuters Institute of Journalism. they hold an MA, MPhil and Ph.D. in economic geography from Downing College, University of Cambridge, England.

Mystery Speaker 2 -
They are a Higher Education Market Segment Executive that brings a technology focus to universities across the country. They enjoy working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, fast paced, and consultative environment where they help solve many complex problems facing higher education institutions. Prior to their current role, they worked for over 4 years at The Wyss Institute at Harvard University where they led business development activities for many groundbreaking technologies. They hold a BS in Business Management, a Minor in Information Technology, and an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Babson College.

J.J. Ruscella-
An innovator in immersive learning and experience design, J.J. Ruscella leads the Shenandoah Center for Immersive Learning (SCIL) as Executive Director at Shenandoah University. Ruscella was tapped to found SCIL Labs as an outgrowth of his work in simulation and training. Entities served include the State Department, United Nations, Border Patrol, George Washington University, as well as various law enforcement, fire, EMT departments and hospitals. His unique    application of digital stages and role player training creates opportunities for arts students to    enhance STEM educational experiences. Most recently, his VR 360 experience “An Atmosphere of    Hate,” was featured in USA Today’s 5th Annual Black History Month magazine, recognizing the    50th Anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination.

Theresa Golding-
Theresa Golding is the current Director of Academic Advising for the Harry F. Byrd, Jr. School of Business. She earned both her Bachelor & Master's Degrees from Shenandoah in 2010 and 2012 respectively. She is currently enrolled in the Graduate School of Education at the University of Pennsylvania and is a candidate for a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Management.

Corrie Eaton-
Corrie Eaton serves as the Student Advising and Professional Development Coordinator at the Byrd School of Business. Corrie earned her Bachelor's in Business Administration in 2017 and her Masters in Business Administration in 2019, both from Shenandoah University.

Shawn Rider-
Shawn Rider is a local resident who in 2016, after five years of being a high school teacher and business owner, decided to pursue his passion of leading his business full time. He holds a bachelor's degree from Appalachian State University. Shawn loves all things related to business but his niche is in leveraging Facebook ads to generate potential new client leads. His current business, a local micro-gym named Shenandoah.Fit, has grown exponentially over the last three    years by using Facebook ads as their sole marketing platform.

Allison Mayhew- 
Allison Mayhew is a recent graduate of Shepherd University with a passion for and interest in marketing trends. She began working for EEP as an intern at the beginning of 2017 and has enjoyed gaining experience and growing alongside the company. Her expertise lies in digital content creation and influencer campaigns.

Garrett Klausner-
Having initially discovered photography as a means of customizing his Myspace profile and connecting with his sister on DeviantArt, G has been behind the lens for over 13 years. In high school, he served his yearbook class by helping his classmates unlock the potential of their cameras. After a short stint as a professional photographer, G found a gig as a programmer. While this career change doesn't give much excuse for carrying around a full camera kit, the technology    we all carry in our phones allows him to still explore one of his favorite hobbies throughout his    day-to-day life. Modern phone cameras have incredible flexibility to accommodate beginners and    experts alike. G loves to the explore their ability to capture the candid moments, with his recent    subject of choice being the diverse menagerie of insects we encounter throughout the day.

Kelley Crowley-
Kelley Crowley is a writer, strategic communicator, and professor of Media and Communication at Shenandoah University. In other lives, Crowley was a radio personality, freelance journalist and the lead publicist for the world's largest invention show. Her doctorate in Rhetoric and Philosophy drives her perspective in storytelling on all platforms. Dr. Crowley encourages students to listen to the words and not just tap to the beat. She can be reached at @KLCPhD.

Tessa Gordon-
As a Winchester native, Tessa Gordon is no stranger to thriving within a community whether it is IRL or on the web. As a lover of all things digital marketing, she graduated from Shenandoah University with a degree in Mass Communications and a resume filled with all things social media. With volunteer and internship experience under her belt, she went on to work for a remote digital marketing agency where she earned the title Social Media Account Manager. After two    years of creating content strategies and monitoring 6 different Instagram feeds a day, Tessa made    her move back to Shenandoah with her husband and fluffy dog, Moose by her side.

John Judy- 
John is a proud 2014 graduate of Shenandoah University’s Byrd School of Business. Early in his post-graduate career, golf was a central focus and Golf Course Operations/ Management was the desired career path. After he realized that was not a path he wanted to continue down, a pivot to marketing was afforded thanks to EEP. Along with these experiences, he also has 8 years of experience in small business management with Northside Pro Shop in Winchester, VA.

Christian Asam- 
Christian Asam, is President of the Bavarian Inn Resort and Brewing Company in Shepherdstown West Virginia.  Most recently Christian and his brother David have completed a remodel and addition to the Inn adding a new casual dining concept and a micro brewery. The Asams manage the day to day operations of the 11 acre campus, that has 72 hotel rooms and now employs 130 team members.    All the Inn’s daily marketing and social media are also his responsibility of Mr. Asam. In 2005 the Asams’ also purchased and renovated the Mimsyln Inn in Luray Virginia which they continue to operate.  Christian is a graduate of James Madison University and has over 25 years experience in the hospitality industry, previously working for the Ritz Carlton and St. Regis, Philadelphia and the Sonnenalp Resort in Vail, Colorado.


Jenna French- 
Jenna French has been with Shenandoah County for 5 years where she served as the Director of Tourism for 3 years before being asked to expand her role to include serving as the Director of Tourism and Economic Development.   During this time, Shenandoah County saw a 20% increase in visitor expenditures for a total of nearly $230,000,000 in 2018. They are now working to bring similar success to economic development in Shenandoah County starting with a revised strategic    plan and improved partnerships with the existing business community while also attracting    new business and growth. 

   In what little spare time she has on the side, Jenna enjoys volunteering with the Woodstock    Enhancement Committee, serving on the Shenandoah County Library Foundation and    Shenandoah Memorial Hospital Foundation and most importantly, playing with her two boys and    taking them on adventures to all her favorite tourism locations throughout the county.
